Trump’s Ignorance and Underestimation of the Pandemic Continues

In today’s unprecedented times of the coronavirus pandemic, the response of President Trump to this challenging situation has been a clear disaster. Moreover, his denial of the facts on the ground is a significant sign of his delusional and narcist behavior, and while, the United States became the epicenter of the Coronavirus, with the highest number of deaths, Trump still claims that the country is doing great.

CoVID-19 in the White House
Even in his latest activities, Trump shows that he does not have the ability to lead this country during these unprecedented times. Just yesterday one member of the military serving as his valets has tested positive for the CoVID-19. This was not the first case of an infected person being close to Trump. However, as in the past, the president dismissed that as nothing to worry about.
To be more specific, nothing to worry about himself because he tested negative. However, it is important to emphasize that President Trump is again going against science. After his military aide was tested positive, Trump had a negative test. Yet, the virus takes at least a few days to incubate. Therefore, there is a chance that he falsely might be falsely negative. Moreover, knowing that fact, the ignorance of POTUS culminated with his trip to Arizona, where he was not wearing a mask and spoke in a Honeywell plant. Also, he had close contact with several people there. That goes in contradiction with the recommendations about wearing a mask from his own White House Coronavirus task force.

The Economy and CoVID-19
Another important aspect of Trump's poor handling of this crisis can be observed through his constant push about reopening the economy. Moreover, the President often ignored the advice of his Coronavirus Task Force. Dr. Anthony Fauci, (the director National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases) firmly stated, on many occasions, that the quick reopening could result in the 2nd wave of outbreaks. Yet, that is ignored by the idiotic Trump. Also, with the current social distancing and quarantine measures, the United States is seeing a daily average of 25,000 new Coronavirus cases daily and an average death rate close to 2,000 deaths per day. These are staggering numbers, the highest in the world, and his claims that that the U.S has turned the tide is simply false, idiotic and out of reality.
Furthermore, his goal of opening up the economy will surely lead to increased infections and the spread of the Coronavirus. The domino effect of that will be overrun the healthcare system, more deaths, and potentially another shut down of the economy. And that will hurt the economy a lot more than extending the current state.
Also, it is important to emphasize that the economy, the Federal Reserve, and the States will not be able to withstand the 2nd shutdown. In that kind of situation, the Mitch McConnell scenario of State Bankruptcies seems an inevitable forced solution.

The Bottom Line
On a final note, it is safe to say that Trump is not helping much with his attitude. But not because of his is poor handling of the media, nor because of his lack of knowledge, and leadership. It is because of his ignorance, his lack of ability to be humble and to listen to the Experts on the matter. Let’s not forget, the fact that it was Trump that was proudly saying that we lost no one of the Coronavirus in February. He underestimated the virus once, and he is on the path to do that same mistake for a second time.
